Over the past week or so, a new feature’s been launched, there’s been an update to the Meditation Timers, and for now, an Editor’s stepped on board. After the jump, embedded, is also one of my favourite Watt’s clips looking at the two kinds of people, Prickles and Goo, and the middle way of reality.
New Feature;Buddhist Definitions / Glossary
There’s plenty of interesting terms in Buddhism / Zen. Unfortunately, a lot of the terms are hard to access, either due to being in Sanskrit, or being laced in metaphor. This feature was created based on terms I’ve found interesting, and investigated until I’ve been able to translate them. This page is a lookup/reference for myself and others, and can be found just below the heading. Keep checking back, as it’s a constant work in progress. If there’s any terms you would like to see investigated, or any terms you have investigated, please leave a comment.
Updated;Free Meditation Timers / Chants
I’ve gotten around to mixing and mashing up a few various files to create some Zen based Meditation timers. There’s a new 35 minute timer with Bodhisattva vows, Heart Sutra with Merit Dedication, and Four Bodhisattva vows, without timer. These files are based on files from Zen Mountain Monastery Sangha, but have undergone heavy editing to ‘clean’ the files.
Updated;An Editor on-board
A long timer reader and friend, Marcus, after a reader-comment about grammar last week, has graciously offered to edit The Middle Way. After a few rounds of asking “are you sure”, we were both still keen. It’s early days, but I’m already experiencing, and enjoying his help. Thanks again Marcus.
Question;Feedback/Suggestions?
This seems like a pretty good time to ask for feedback or suggestions about The Middle Way. Is there anything you’d like to see, or not see? Anything making you happy or sad? Will happily look at addressing anything suggested.

Hi Wade,
I like the Middle Way. So, sorry, but no suggestions for improvement.
I hope you and Marcus enjoy the collaboration – a good editor is worth their weight in gold.
Hi Evan,
Thanks for the feedback. Good to know it’s working for you.
And so far, so good with Marcus. I’m beginning to understand what you mean about worth their weight in gold.
May all beings be happy.
Gassho,
Wade
I like the meditation and chant additions. This is a very uplifting place to visit. I have added you to my blogroll.
Part of what makes it so inviting to explore this site is the multisensory experiences. You challenge yourself to think from the point of view of a prospective reader and thus offer new and appealing ideas. You might add a future permanent suggestion box or contact form for readers.
Hi Liara,
Thanks for your feedback. I’m glad you find the other ideas/features I try to add as of some use. I’m always happy to try new ideas out, thanks for the suggestion box. I do have a method for contacting me on the site, through the about page. I may give it some more work and convert it into an easy to use form.
Thanks again.
May all beings be happy.
Gassho,
Wade
Can’t improve on perfection, chief! And congrats on the rapidly rising RSS stats!
Hey Wade,
Great new additions. The timers and chants seem like a nice resource, I imagine that many people will find them helpful.
No suggestions, just keep doing it and enjoying it.
@Albert, blushes always too kind Albert.
@Greg, You’ll be hearing those chants in person soon enough
Thanks also for the encouragement, I plan to keep on going-Peaks and Troughs, working from within, without, regardless. All things change.
May all beings be blessed by the Dharma.
Gassho,
Wade
