It takes some inititative on my part to write you, My Friend, to ask for one of your lovely books. Why so conflicted? Well, just call me BiPolarBear. When my “symptoms” are at their worst, I’m “robbed of the will” to act in loving-kindness for myself; like gee, there’s a nice book I could ask for… I Don’t-Try to Not-Think about Not-Doing. That’s what works the best. So, if I Don’t-Ask, maybe I’ll Not-Receive such a lovely Not-Gift. You know just what I mean. Thanks for Not-Listening. Today is a Good Day, though, so I thought I’d Not-Write to you, just to Not-say, “Namaste.” In the Light. your friend up-or-down, light-or-dark, fast-or-slow. ginni

You are very generous. No matter where a person comes from, no matter what job they have or how they contribute in the form of a job to the world, each person has opportunities to enrich the lives of others. You use your creative power to uplift your readers. Thanks!

Hi All! Thanks for so many lovely comments and offline e-mails. It’s really nice knowing you are all still out there, and it’s great to know you want to hear more from me. I’m very touched, and now know I should put more focus over here.

I would be very interested in receiving a book and will check back for title postings (or feel free to choose a title on my behalf). ‘Simple Living’ would probably be my number one life topic of interest, if that is at all helpful, but any direction of growth is most welcome. Hello
Am sorry for being so late, but would be grateful if you could also ship me a budhhist book. I live in Hyderabad, India. Have only read ‘The miracle of mindfulness’ by Thich Nhat Hanh. Loved every bit of it for its simplicity and wisdom.
Do let me know if it is still possible for you to ship a book(any book you can), to be.
      Thank you very much.
      Peace

    44. 44 David Fields

I really appreciate anyone who tries to get the Dharma out. It’s a difficult thing in a country who believe that the Dali Lama is the pope of Buddhism and Buddha is a god. So, the need for education is important. Buddhism can bring peace and contentment to large numbers of people. Right now, and I hope I do not sound judgmental, Buddhism is an intellectual practice done by many good people. I would like to see Buddhism expand to, say, truck drivers, steelworkers, 7-11 workers, just plain folks.

      Good luck to you!

    45. 45 gangani

its nice to hear from you,i love to learn about buddhism. it will be a meritfullthing if can send me a book.

    56. 56 David Fields

I would like to know your opinion of the value of animals in our lives. I have noticed that animals feel pain, show fear when their lives are in danger, and can show great strength and courage in times of danger. When I see a stuffed animal on display I see a side of an animal that a human likes to see like snarling wolf or attacking bear. However, there is no “spark” of life in any of these. I am convinced that animals are interconnected with us, but I’ve yet to find out in my heart where that connection is. I hope I’m not too vague in this, but hope I can get a discussion going.

    57. 57 Raj Menon

I would like to recieve the books also. Thank you.

    58. 58 Kathleen Barry

      Dear Kind Soul,
It is very generous for you to present such an offer and I would be delighted to receive a book.
Something of interest would be anything to do with kindness…..as sometimes we must endure living in an unkind world.
Happiness comes from within and can be shared with many…..this I try my best.
I look forward to hearing from you when possible.
      Many thanks.

    59. 59 charlz

could I get a copy of In One Lifetime: Pure Land Buddhism?

I would be very interested in a book about approaching and constantly living in a “middle way” state of being and how to maintain a sense of impersonal compassion in relation with all things, while rejecting extremism in all its political/philosophical manifestations.

I do not request to be sent a book though, as I just stumbled across this site and I believe doing so would be wrong, but rather a sort of direction on where I might find such a book that reviews these ideas thoughtfully and without distortion.

i am new to budhist concepts. would like to know and experience more plse send some books that can give a proper introductiion thanks.

    77. 77 Paul Crawford

Hi I’ve just started delving into the buddhist faith and it intrigues me very much.I’m amazed that a relgion so old could be so complex. Encompassing both mind health and body health in such a complete way. One day a while ago I lsitened to a young man tell me how he hated buddhism because it was all about being sad. That peaked my curiosity because I thought “How could a religion be so dismal, how they hell did it last this long with such a depressing idea?” So I started reading buddhism and came into the these ideas that were just so beautiful and enrisching they took my breath away. Both poetic and realistic. You have to dream if you are to live and you have to live if you are to dream. This is what buddhism has shown me so far. Are there any books that you might have help me along the path

    78. 78 Adam

      Dear Wade,

I’ve since recently been inspired to become more in tune with my spirituality. The buddhist faith appears to be more in line with my belief system and seems to be a plausible approach to achieving this goal. I currently live in Connecticut, in the U.S.A. and the indoctrination of Western religions has only left me uninspired and wanting to attain a personal level of truth, wisdowm, and consciousness. I would greatly appreciate it if you could steer me in a direction with some of the literature you are offering. The awakening of loving kindness and a path to true happiness sounds like something I would enjoy reading but then again you know more than i do on this subject. Anything you can assist me with would be greatly appreciated.

      Thank you for your time.

    79. 79 nag

I am a practicing Buddhist and I have been for about 5 years now. I am always willing to expand my knowledge and to share it with others. I would really enjoy more books to add to my collection. I would not mind reading “The Awakening of Lovingkindness & A Path to True Happiness” as happiness can always be tested, but never assumed. Peace and harmony to all.

Hi, I enjoyed your site. I don’t really know much about buddhism but what I’ve heard has all been very positive and it’s something I’d like to explore more. I heard that Buddhists have a philosophy called Loving Kindness, which by the very name sounds a way that we should all perhaps try to live our lives.

      Hi there,

I’m a 19yo law student from New Zealand, and I’ve recently returned from Thailand where I was doing volunteer and aid work. I visited many temples, and learnt a bit about Theravada Buddhism. I would be grateful for any book that you might consider appropriate and helpful for me. I’m intereasted in the mythology and the core princples and teachings.

      Thank you.

      Hi,

Came across this blog post while I was doing some research for my own blog; if you’re still sending out free books, I’d very much like one (I’d like more than one, but it seems fair to give one per person). The only one I have already read is the Sutra of Hui-Neng, so please make your choice of another.

      Many thanks :)

    122. 122 Sonam Dorji

I am a Buddhist from India and I am really glad that I can order a book free of cost. I thank you for that. Can you please send me “Awakening a Kind Heart”? Or if you don’t have it in the stock now, you can send me any book on Buddhism.
      Thank you

    123. 123 Colton Booth

Hello, I was wondering if you could send me a book? I would really love one to help enlighten me.
“Liao~Fan’s Four Lessons—Changing One’s Destiny” Is the one I would like

      Thanks!

    124. 124 Stephen

Wade – I’m not sure if you still have books left. I had left a comment a while back. I’m sure you have been inundated! If you still have books available I’d love The “Awakening of Lovingkindness & A Path to True Happiness” or any other book that is available, but that would be my first choice. Thanks so much!
